Food for thought but no teeth to chew

Hitherto, did you ever happen to come across people who seem to cast a first impression of great thinkers!!?? Later, disappointment is all you get.

Pseudo Socrates and Platos as I like to call them possess a train of thought which whistles incessantly but never manages to move beyond the first station, giving a false impression of a locomotive which should/will be departing anytime now.
If you have these sort of people around who mull(or pretend to) over issues, as if they will come out with a solution, so good, they will give a new dimension to the word ingenuity;Watch out!!
You pose them with a trivial problem, they almost magically turn it into a catch 22 situation.
And having said all that we are not dealing with retardation or autism of any sort, in fact these are people who think they know it all, until of course....

Bizzare questions people ask

The bizzarest of bizzare question is what people ask when u r in a restroom. This question tops the list for me:-

Hey what u doing in there.???!!!!

Playing tennis dude, for godsake leave me alone atleast when i am....(Whatever that you are doing at that moment.Saying it in my truest earnest I dnt want to know) .

Another completely bizzare question people ask is when you are all dressed up for a party/ceremony/nightout/marriage

So u all dressed up..hmm???

and you just cannot stop thinking(not vocalising ur thoughts though) NO I was just about to go to bed before you asked me about it,in these clothes.

There are scores of them but I am going to come back to it later,pronto..gotta leave

Conditional Authentic System

The implementation of CAS in Delhi and the non-implementation of it at my place makes my dad go back to the madieval times of Doordarshan. Having been treated to the colourful presentations and straight out of salon anchors of private news channels, retracting to DD news has not been an easy transition. Once the transition took place and the fact sunk in that dinner time means watching DD news for 1/16th part of the waking day I started developing profound interest in it,very gradually. The realisation eventually came in that there is no other news channel on air which presents NATIONAL level news in a more succint and lucid manner as DD news. The views of the news writers(or whoever prepares the matter) are unbiased, unprejudiced to the highest degree quite unlike other channels who swing like a pendulum according to their affiliation with their respective political parties.

Fair Unfair

There are words and terms we come across almost every day and sometimes a number of times but we fail to pause and ponder over them.We just read over them without giving much of a thought, dont we ?
One such word is outsourcing.
I was recently watching a documentary on outsourcing made by an american whose job had been bangalored(its a legitimate word now,i guess). This man, in the profession of a software engineer for the past 4-5 years reaches his office on a normal day to find a pink slip on his desk.On probing matters he got to know from his boss that his job had been outsourced to TCS to an indian guy who now manages to manage his profile in one-third of the salary he used to draw.
Shell-shocked, he returns home to break the news to his family(a girlfriend and a 2-3 month old son) and then visits his parents in the evening to discuss his sudden state of unemployment over dinner. Three mouths to feed and not wanting to depend on social security he decides to probe matters further..He plans a visit to the hub of outsourced jobs-Bangalore.
To his amazement,on the drive from airport to the address of the middle class south indian family he had to stay with,he found an office of almost every big american firm he could think of.The two working people in the family, brothers, were also employed in the IT sector, elder one as a team leader in a BPO and other as a software engineer and the fact certainly did not help assuage his state of distress.Implicitly or explicitly they had snatched away two jobs from the US.
In an attempt to regain his lost confidence he walked into a 'walk in with ur resume and walk out with a job' type of a recruitment consultant and to his utter astonishment walked out with a job similar in profile to the one he had lost in his country. The recent series of jolts he had received never seemed to get over when he was asked to attend an american accent learning training session. The irony of the whole thing was the instructor was himself an Indian.
